This Cookie Notice ("Notice") explains how Brella Ltd. and its affiliate Brella Inc. ("Brella", "we", "us") use cookies and similar technologies on our website at www.brella.io and in the Brella event-networking service, including its web and mobile applications (together, the "Services"). It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more generally.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an application. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, local storage and software development kits (SDKs), and this Notice refers to all of them as "cookies". Some cookies are set by us (first-party) and some by other organizations whose services we use (third-party).
2. The cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories.
Essential cookies are required for the Services to work: they keep you signed in, remember your event selection, protect against fraud and misuse, and load pages securely. They are set without your consent because the Services cannot function without them.
Functional cookies remember choices you make, such as language, and make the Services easier to use.
Analytics cookies help us understand how the Services are used — which pages are visited, how long sessions last, where errors occur — so we can improve them. The data is aggregated and does not identify you to us.
Advertising cookies are used on our website only, to measure our marketing campaigns and show relevant Brella content on other platforms. We do not use advertising cookies inside the event service.
Functional, analytics and advertising cookies are set only with your consent.
Third parties whose cookies may be set through the Services include: HubSpot; Google Analytics and Google Ads/DoubleClick; Meta (Facebook); LinkedIn; G2 and YouTube. Each of these providers has its own privacy notice describing how it uses the data it collects.
3. Your choices
Under the Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014) and the EU ePrivacy rules, we need your consent for any cookie that is not essential. When you first visit our website you can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in the website footer.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser or device settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the Services — including signing in to the event app — may not work.
If you are a California resident, you can opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by declining advertising cookies or contacting us as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies in events organized by our customers
When you use the Brella service as an event participant, the event Organizer decides which optional features are enabled for its event. We set cookies on the Organizer's behalf to deliver those features. Questions about the Organizer's own data practices should be directed to the Organizer; see the Privacy Policy for how roles are allocated.
5. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time, for example when we add or remove a cookie or a provider. The "Latest update" date shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected in the cookie banner.
